U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has begun the process of requesting bids from different companies that would include both design proposals and prototypes for President Donald Trump’s proposed wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.
Trump’s administration has also proposed that the wall could be as tall as 30 foot, and certainly no shorter than 18 foot.
In a document, the CBP has said “The wall design shall be physically imposing in height.”
The agency has also said the wall must be at east 6 feet underground to prevent anyone from digging underneath it to get to the other side.
The government has made it clear that the wall must be able to withstand blows from a “sledgehammer, car jack, pick axe, chisel, battery operated impact tools, battery operated cutting tools, Oxy/acetylene torch or other similar hand-held tools.”
Around 700 companies have already registered as potential planners for this wall, and others have until the 29th March to submit their proposals for phase one of this ginormous project.
