PM: “Defining Moment” for UK as Parliament Backs Brexit Bill

Parliament has backed the government’s Brexit Bill in what Prime Minister Theresa May has branded a “defining moment for our whole country”.

Despite a political hick-up last night, the House of Lords has now backed the EU Withdrawal Bill, meaning it cleared to receive Royal Assent and become law.

This will then clear the way for Mrs. May to trigger Article 50, the formal mechanism for leaving the European Union, meaning a two year negotiating period will begin.

This is the moment many have been waiting for.
