Samsung to Shift Manufacturing from Mexico to US

Samsung has announced that it will soon begin to invest in expanding its production in the US, according to the Wall Street Journal.

A source close to the company said this expansion will begin with an investment of around $300 million. This figure includes the relocation of some jobs from Mexico to the US.

According to the source, this alone could see the creation of 500 new jobs in the States.

This comes just months after Samsung’s Vice Chairman, Lee Jae-yong, attended a meeting at Trump Tower with the then president-elect.

President Donald Trump promised Americans that there would be a surge of job creation under his presidency in the run-up to the election last year. This vision is now becoming reality.
