Surge in UK Tourism Post Brexit Vote

Despite warnings from the ‘Remain’ campaign regarding Brexiteer’s supposed ‘Little England’ view of the country before last years EU referendum, latest figures show that there was a surge in tourism into the UK after the vote.

Research by the ONS has found that between October 2016 and January 2017 foreign visitors from around the world increased by 13%, with tourism from North America rising at a whopping rate of 19% on the same three months the year before.

All in all, 8.8 million tourists visited the UK in this time and spent 15% more during this time as well. Not quite the ‘little England’ we were warned of!
